About the Soldier Systems TRM

What is it?

The Soldier Systems Technology Roadmap project is a unique industry-government collaboration to develop a comprehensive technology roadmap to support Canada's soldier modernization efforts. Using Industry Canada's established knowledge-sharing process known as roadmapping, industry and other participants will identify the "art of the possible" in soldier systems technologies that can be available for delivery over the next five to ten years.

For the first time, Canadian industry, academia and not-for-profit research organizations will be involved at the front end of capability definition for the Canadian Forces.

This exchange of information will enable participating companies and organizations to:

  • Understand Canadian Forces future capabilities requirements
  • Build a shared awareness of available and emerging soldier systems technologies
  • Raise the profile of their technologies and their capabilities
  • Identify potential partners for future R&D and innovations
  • Position themselves for global markets

Who Can Participate

The Soldier Systems TRM is an open, inclusive and collaborative exercise. Participation is free and voluntary. No membership in any organization is required. Participation in the Soldier Systems TRM is open to:

  • Canadian and international technology-based companies of all sizes
  • Researchers and other experts from academia, government and not-for-profit research organizations from Canada and around the world
